Complimented captaining CVs!

I would say (and I'm sure it's been said before) that the escort line of US CVs are what near all lines should be. The ample smoke and fighters (when equipped and skilled accordingly) give such good team play potential. The 'cooldown' aircraft which I had only experienced on Supers define the one flight strike you only conduct anyway as well. I know this will be addressed in the upcoming rework but, they have a decent model already present.

Due to enjoying the most toxic of forbidden, naughty boats (Alliance, U-4501, Enterprise, Erich Loewenhardt, Smolensk, Thunderer to name a few amongst a number of other desk flippers) my karma always resides at 0.

In a recent match those filthy Hildebrand Whales (6 in a match statistically denotes peeps are dropping dubs a plenty on the boxes) only found smoked up cruisers with interceptors orbiting over their heads only to be blapped by big guns firing with impunity from their scrumptious smoke. Indeed the Essex in this case forced them to dig the fingers in deeply, spread those cheeks nice and wide and accept it with a gleeful grin.

Two compliments for playing a CV. First time it has happened. Well perhaps it was five which countered the three reports for 'plays poorly'.

Now if only those fighters actually did anything...

The tier 8 fighters can just be outrun or recalled away from...

I wouldn’t necessarily go that far. Statistically, 1 in 50 players will nab the ship from the single container available for 25k coal. 250 doubloons gives another crate (another 2% chance) and 750 doubloons another two 2% chances. By that point a player’s chance of getting the tier X ship for 1k doubloons (~$4 US, $2 US if those are birthday doubloons) is ~7.8%. Even if one is strictly F2P, 1k doubloons isn’t too hard to collect for free for a regular player between ranked, free daily bundles, and PTS (to say nothing of all the SCs opened last patch). A lot of players will pluck the low-hanging fruit.

There are certainly some players who whaled for the ship, but the above math combined with the size of the playerbase means that there are also going to be a lot players who invested a lot less. Add in the fact that it’s a shiny new ship and most players will want to immediately take her for a spin, and it shouldn’t be surprising that the high tier queues are full of Hildebrands. The true test, IMO, will be how many remain after a week or two. I expect most of those who decided to casually roll the dice to maybe get a very cheap tier X will have lost interest.

they can't latch to T10 planes?... what a shame, Bearn's (T6) latch OK to T8 planes.

Indeed.

Very much agree with the 'Shiny' syndrome.

Tier 8 and 10 planes are fast enough to easily avoid latch.

Bearn's only latch well to certain T8 planes, and only if you have taken the increased patrol radius skills.

The fun with Bearn and Independence is that many players don't understand how fighters work and many of the CV planes are slow enough to get really punished.

That's not the case at higher tiers.

yo, increased patrol radius and improved reactions are mandatory if you intend to use interceptors and/or play air superiority... stock fighters never latch to anything when you need it

I have both. Tier 8 planes can still easily avoid the fighters.

I will never ever compliment any reworked CV player's actions (even for the W). I am a RTS CV purist. One has to retain ones principles regarding WG 😒 perfidy.

I did make an exception to this most excellent recommendation.

During the Oquendo dockyard, I complimented co-op CV players for guaranteeing an enemy CV spawn so we could shoot down some planes.  It helped me get through that mission so I thanked them.

I think i've done it once or twice.

     But they are still  2 - 4,736

Bearn tends to get comps when it kills all the enemy DDs.

Doesnt stop folks from spamming the F key for air cover, though.
