The worst positioning I have ever seen (picture)

I have no words. I had some for them though, amounting to "don't do that".

That's great positioning on that side.   Only problem is everyone had that great idea.

I'm guessing that the remaining ships of the red-team are soon to be pushed into a "fish ball" and sunk one by one.  🤔

Nah, in these blowout games not many ships get sunk.

The real question, IMO, is what the h*ll the green AL Agir is doing. :classic_laugh:

I've never liked having to spawn on that flank. If I do, I am always tempted to wait for the proper moment and skillfully steal away to the east side hoping no one will catch onto what I'm doing. Maybe the AL Agir is doing the same?...

Aside from the relatively common custom of leaving middle (as discussed on this thread a while ago) certain flank spawns are less desirable than others for some classes. I neither like east when playing DDs nor west when playing CLs on North/Northern Lights, but I won't abandon it right at the beginning without the fog of war at least partially dispersing.

Salute.

This is why I quit playing random.  Saw this way too often.

But go ahead and do this when you play coop, more for me.

This happens quite often on this map.

Ahhh the good ole group sex in back. But don't try to tell them its not an effective means of combat. They never listen.

Didn't someone comment, recently, to the effect that 'there is no bottom to the WG player stupidity well' (or some similar sentiment). 😒

I don't remember who wrote it, though.

Im seeing the following with with distressing frequency:

8 of 12 ships blob at speed toward the same location and upon contact with a smaller number of the enemy, either

1) circle in open water (which has the charm of bringing a quick conclusion);

2) shun LOS, often by using the same bit of cover;

3) reverse or kite away.

Arlskandir or OldSchoolGaming, perhaps? Daniel Allen Carr? It was someone who comments intelligently & well here

I think I may have been one of the reds in that picture. I remember my team doing something like that in one of the games today (and as I said, possibly exactly what you posted) and I was about to tear my hair out.

Instead, I just decided to try and have a good brawl and screw the match.

I have been summoned...

...and I wish I could have stated the sentiment so succinctly. Sadly, I am not the author of that quote.

I would probably be a usual suspect in this case and I would probably be guilty as charges as well ... but I don't remember that exact quote spoken by me.  Im probably known for not having the highest opinion of WG, their direction of this game lately (more subs, Supes, CVs, planes and BS Gimmicks) or the general skill level of the playerbase at T10 or in Ranked Gold.

A good sign of this fact is that this scenario showed in the picture is more common than not. Lemming train Deluxe which often starts right in the beginning of the map when a group of right-side spawners just decide to join the left side, and then the whole or 90% of the team precedes to "Go West" and give up entire map control and 2 outa 3 caps to the enemy team for free.

If you try and explain the fault in this plan to the team you will get the respons that "We will steamroll their side and kill them all and then we will sweep across to other side and crush the rest" ......... this of course NEVER Happen. What will happen is that the genius who is heading this Lemming train will soon stop Dead in his tracks when he receives the first shot from the enemy side and then just like Lemmings they will all stop and then suddenly just form this bunched up ball of ships like we see in this picture, which of course is very juicy target for torp spam, subs, crossfires from ALL direction now that enemy team has surrounded them, and they just die.

What you can do in this situation is either disrupt the enemy´s advantage and advancement (good example in my "Missouri twice in mid channel" video), by taking a route or position to try and halt them the same way they just hauled our L-train. The Ägirs position in this screen could had been a good example of this if the red team was the pushing force and Ägir didn't have all those friendly's at A cap. Where you position a strong ship by an island where the ship is using the "pie" or "Pie-ing" tactic to ensure 1 Vs 1 with the pushing force and also a threat of crossfire if they ignore you and try and push past you. You probably still lose, because youre Lemmings will secure that, but you will have delayed them a lot and forced them to deal with you in one way or another, and you will be first in losing team with best rewards.

Btw, this map "Greece" is probably the worst map ever for DD and Sub players, so probably best map for all the rest. Except for some bad angles at C cap there is no real efficient way to torp because the islands pretty much make a wall between the both sides, so if you wanna get damage you need to go into suicide territory on the enemy's side of the map. Meanwhile the enemy radar and ASW have no problem reaching you on you're side.
