Congrats.  🙂

A 2% drop chance is certainly unlikely, but far from impossible. Statistically, 1 player in every 50 can expect to get Hildebrand for almost free (250 doubloons).

There's one available for coal. So yeah, free is possible.

I read this morning how everyone was getting one of these out of those containers.

So, FOMO kicked in because I was just curious. I logged in and bought a couple of the containers.

Hildebrand dropped in the first one.

The chances to get one of these out of a container have to be higher than 2%.

Or there's a bug.

Not that I'm ever going to sail the stupid thing. I have no interest in hybrids or CV's.

All it's doing for me is adding one more ship to the collection. I'm closing in on the 500 ship collector badge. I'm at 484!

I'm seen several in EU battles this morning.  It's time to play AA ships.

Been seeing a lot of people saying they're getting the ship on the 1st or 2nd container, much more than you'd expect from a 2% drop chance. Took a shot and bought the 1st 250 dub one in the armory. Will open when I get home and see if I'm lucky too.

I didn't get a ship from the German Premium Container that I purchased with coal.

Edited to add:  Purchasing the first container (for 250 doubloons) in the 10 items of progression line did not provide me a ship, either.

Maybe the guy keying in the probability entered “2” for percentage, but the entry requires decimal fraction instead (0.02).

I got one yesterday on the first container purchase and after I had opened the one obtained for coal. I was obviously stunned and amazed and was going to post a screenshot but did not want to revel too much in my good luck.

Don't spoil my lottery ticket hopes with reality.

Between the Hildebrands being everywhere and all the other cv's out last night I gave up playing normal ships and went with my full AA spec golden lion. They left me alone after that lol.

While it’s possible the containers are bugged, reporting bias also needs to be considered. Most who gamble and don’t get the ship won’t advertise it.

This same bias is why community efforts to determine drop rates were notoriously difficult in the past before WG started publishing the information.

And WG was compelled to publish that information, if memory serves. And yes, it most likely reporting bias.

The first time I ever got anything on the first roll

I got 2 crates, 1 for coal and 1 for 250 gold. Nothing.

My coal container had some premium time. Not going to spend doubloons on those chance containers, even as small an amount as 250.

Using highly advanced statistical analysis I can confirm that the drop rate is most certainly below 100%

Indeed.

Now the next thing is to actually find a way to verify that the published drop rates are truthful...

My distrust of gaming companies runs deep...but they have generally earned that lack of trust.

There's been a lot of documented instances wherein WG was found to be dishonest in World of Warships. That is why I simply do not trust them. Same goes for WG apologists/defenders. I never trust them.
