Jakob Knight Posted October 3 Posted October 3 When I saw the picture of it arriving back in San Francisco Bay in 1946, I had to blink and do a double take. I recognized the radar sets and the reinforced stack and mainmast as signature Japanese naval techniques, but it didn't look like any class I'd ever seen them use, and that confused me because I went from believing it was a USN ship to thinking it was an IJN ship taken as war spoils and commissioned for a year, to just not knowing what I was looking at. Then I read about the ship's story, and it all fell into place. 3
