Video - Why I hate cell phones for security logins

I know I am old as F***. I remember when to get into computer systems, you did not need a password. You just connected. Why because the people using them were the only authorized into the systems. Not even CEO's could gain access to their own systems. Then players started hacking systems for access and passwords were created.

Later on Bell Labs broadcast in one of their tech con seminars that they play practical jokes on each other in using a thing call "software viruses". People asked them how they did it and Bell Labs gave the information.  We know about the results with the Pandora's box being open for that one.

Then comes Steve Job's doing phone phreaks. Which is why their is a SS7 phone security standard. Now along comes with cell phones with smart phone capabilities. However, the phone industry never adapted a newer secure system to evolve to the next level of security beyond SS7.

Examples:

In this day and age, finding security is a hard thing. Most of the problem with SS7 deals with 2G and 3G old phone requirements. Add to the corruptness of the possible GT (Global Titles) connections.

I really dislike putting all of your "digital eggs" in one basket, just to have security ease. I am beginning to understand why Luddites are the way they are. All of this make me wonder if house manufacturers in the future will be building houses with Faraday cage within them for security?
