Col_NASTY Posted August 30, 2024 Posted August 30, 2024 What I have been noticing lately that has increased a LOT is a very noticeable lack of CVs whenever I bring a DD with powerful AA ( HALLAND ) vs when I am in a pathetic AA ship ( Jager ). I enjoy the thrill of smokeless DDS even with all the ridiculous things WG has added to the game that can perma spot them. I've been NUKED by Supers CVs and CVs 12 games in a row.. Switch to HALLAND for example, NO CV FOR 10 games STRAIGHT! It's not just me. In Battle chat, if I mention it, almost everyone says the same thing is happening to them as well. 2

It's been a known feature of the MM for several years now. I joke about it a lot in chat. "I brought an AA spec ship so we could have no CVs!" It's part of the reason I laugh when people claim WG doesn't mess with the MM beyond the published parameters. 😉 1 1

I actually dont mind playing british BBs as low tier since still you can burn things, now even a higher tier. On the side note, Vanguard came so late to the war that he should be a tier 10 🙂
Navalpride33 Posted August 31, 2024 Posted August 31, 2024 I had worse... In a random battle. I was the only tier 8 BB in a tier X battle. MM did partner me with a tier 8 BB on the other side. The other downside. Of the two tier 8 BBs in a tier X match, I was the weakest BB of the two.

Vanguard was built around WW 1 guns...they had the 15 inchers still sitting around that were orginally going to be installed on the BCs they converted to CVs. Furthermore, there is a need to provide a relative change from other real ships, particularly real ships from the same country. If KGV is T7, it makes sense for Vanguard to be T8. One thing about Vanguard in the game is WG designed it to be a veteran player ship. It requires a certain awareness of the situation, and tactics and strategy to match to that awareness. It is very unforgiving if played incorrectly...and can be quite the charm when played to strengths. As I've found T8 to be my sweet spot in general, along with my BB main nature, any T8 BB that caters to that sweet spot will eventually find its way into my port. Real ship even better.
