What's the down home favorite foods where you hail from?  I'm a cornfed Hoosier so you know I've had a few of these in my life.

This is an Indiana sugar creme pie.  Delicious!  And this....

is a Hoosier style Tenderloin sandwich.  There are none better!  Sometimes the tenderloin is over a foot across.  Mmm, mmm!

During our family get-togethers, which generally consisted of 35 or so people, there was always a big pie table to visit after the main meal. Dad's favorite pie was pecan. I always liked pumpkin with whipped cream. There were also cherry, apple, rhubarb, and peach pies with home-made ice cream. Most of the pie ingredients were home-grown. I didn't appreciate how good I had it back then.

There are very few commercially available pies that come anywhere near an average homemade pie in terms of quality. I just wish the USA embraced savoury pies more, very limited range of them here. In Scotland if it stands still long enough we'll either fry it or make it into a pie... and then perhaps fry it as well.

Chicken and turkey pot pies are quite popular in America. As for fried pie-like savories, we have burritos. Quiches really haven't caught on. I've eaten a few and I can take them or leave them, usually leave them. When I was in grade school, the lunch ladies made actual pizza pie -- pizza ingredients baked in a pie crust -- it was one the most popular dishes.

Yes I've had all those, but no pork pies, veal and ham pies, gala pies, Grosvenor pie, steak and kidney pie, Scotch pie, Steak and ale pie, chicken and ham pie, chicken and mushroom pie, Teviot pie, macaroni pie, corned beef pie (see above), cheese and onion pie, bridies, pasties...

If you had them available you'd be eating them!

We do have a restaurant call "Cheeky Bastards" that serves British cuisine.  I've never been though.
