Remember when...

I remember when you could designate incoming squadrons for AA priority;

when we had forum contests, (back when we had a WG forum;)

when people got excited when they offered 35 FXP for 1 doubloon;

my first Christmas event where you could earn a bunch of tier6 tech tree ships.

My first Christmas as a F2P where my clan mates sent we 40 crates as a welcome and I ended up with seven, seven ships.....

Christmas Flakes that meant something fun and new....

AA as a Skill.   RTS as a challenge and, as a target, some really serious anxiety (cross drops...)

As a DD main in Randoms:  scouting and pushing the envelope of what little radar there was..........then, the Cruiser Line Split and PVP was over.....sigh.

The Operations and Campaigns were new and fun !

Oh yes, @HamptonRoads it most assuredly was new and fun !

2. CVs could not launch aircraft while on fire

There was a Captain's Skill which could solve that problem, though.  It cost 2 or 3 skill points, if I remember correctly.

IIRC it allowed you to launch planes but took twice as long to launch them.  Still beats sitting around until the fires went out

I remember when CVs could actually catch on fire.  They're made of asbestos and kevlar now.

The ones I’m glad to see gone

Open water stealth firing !

You could fire from smoke with out being detected.

you could intentionally team kill.

I remember when you could get achievements in CO-Op.

--- Remember getting 2 in the same attack 'It's just a scratch' and "Double Strike" for sinking 2 CVs with Exeter.

Fondly remember fewer gimmics for ships.

Especially remember when there where fewer gimmicks for CVs and their Air Groups. (CVs making smoke? Really?)

Fondly remember when there where NO subs except as halloween gimmicks.

I remember saving those rare (and hideous) Halloween camos for a “special” battle when I really needed that bonus.

I remember saving premium consumables for the same reason.

i remember when you could only get the special modules out of a supercontainer instead of in the armory for coal.

Well, as long as we're going down WOWS memory lane.

I remember the excitement of the community when it actually felt like a community.

I remember community managers that you actually wanted to have discussions with.

I remember when the game was fun.

Missouri, Musashi, and Kronshtadt were originally 750,000 Free XP.  It was MUCH harder to earn in those early days.  I got all three ships, with Kronshtadt in November 2018.  In March of 2019 I got Alaska for 1,000,000 Free XP, and the increase to 1M created quite the uproar.

I remember when there were NO containers, much less super containers.  For a while, super containers could drop special ship modules.  That ended in June 2018.

I remember grinding hard for HMS Småland back in the day, what was it 2 000 000 Free XP? I just missed out when they pulled her. Would love to had gotten it since I been inside her ..... many times (Museum ship in my hometown) 🤪

Remember when...

-captains had 19 pts max.

-campaings gave good revards (I really miss some new campaigns...)

-SC containers were really GREAT

-Alaska price was 1m fxp

-Many old good ships wasn't removed from game

-SUBS AND SUPERSHIPS DIDN'T EXISTED

-Massachutets was GREAT SHIP WHICH DIDN'T NERFED WITH SUBS...

-achievements gave signals

-camos worthed

-OPS gave you commanders etc...

GOOD GOOD OLD TIMES...

EDIT:

-Dockyard had better free rewards and less dobloons to spend to the end

-game had more players

-low tiers wasn't filled with bots

-even after midnight you could normally play t5 or low tiers without bots with full human teams...

I remember getting 'excited' about this offer the week after spending doubloons to convert all my ship XP to FXP to get a captain to 19 skill points.  I also remember just missing out on the doubloon sale about that same time.  I remember deadeye and RPF were skills for BB captains.  I remember how enraged I became when captain skill points jumped to 21 pts. just a couple months after finally having two captains that earned ECXP.  I also remember when GZ was useless in Naval Battles.

The more I think back, the more I would rather just forget about it.

The more I think about it the more I want to knock out Doctor Who and go back time with his Tardis.

CVs can catch on fire now. The fire duration is 5 seconds.

All the damage that would normally accrue during a longer duration is done in the shorter time.

For example, Midway burns for 5 seconds at 676 damage per second for a total damage of 3380 HP.

Worcester burns for 30 seconds at 136 damage per second for a total damage of 4086 HP.

You know, he may have anticipated just such a move and gone back in time to a timepoint before that.... could become quite smelly...

Try stacking multiple fires under 5 seconds...

That's not what I would call a disadvantage

I remember when early access tech lines had camos all the way down to Tier 5.

I remember when there was no early access to new tech tree lines, and on release day low tiers were a $h!t show with matchmaking consisting of nothing but the new ships.  It took almost a week for even a sense of normal to return.

I miss the era when weegee didn't shut out those who redeem steam free giveaways with non-steam created but steam-connected accounts.

Now they are steam-exclusive.

I never said it was an advantage or a disadvantage.

I said that carriers do burn even now.

I remember (via Jingles videos, not personally) when you could set more than 2 floodings on the same target, and when planes could spot torpedoes.

I remember when Ranked didn't have "leagues", just "brackets".

I remember "dragon flags".

I remember when YY was the only T10 radar DD.

I remember when Italy had no tech-tree line, and none of their premiums had smoke nor SAP.

I remember when some ships had AP secondaries.

I remember when the only mid-tier map you could play at T10 was Two Brothers.

I remember when Yamato/Musashi had the biggest guns in the game...

I remember when Adrenaline Rush was for 2 points.
