Tread_Head57
For the anniversary event next update, I can expect ~13,000 festive tokens (including the daily and 1st line event tokens). Doing the math, that gets me 65 containers for the Pan American legendary commander. 85 is max you can buy, so it won’t guarantee the CDR, but should get me most of the way there. For 13,000 tokens, I could instead get: 104 supercontainers or 25 supercontainers + 50 blue boosters + 150 green boosters The legendary commander interests me because I love my Schlieffen + Lutjens and the new Pan American BBs seem to be very similar. I am getting low on blue/green boosters left over from the camo re-work, and haven’t bothered to grind several of the tech-tree lines yet, so boosters would be handy as well. A ton of supercontainers sounds great, but I question their true value these days after the nerfs. What do you think? EDIT: For further context, I have in order of tiers X-V: 15, 18, 22, 17, 35, 30 ships. I’m not interested in Rochester from this event, as I have plenty of premiums in a mix of coal/steel/RB. For me I will probably try to get as much as possible towards the Pan Am Commander because I will always see a huge value in Legendary commanders especially if they are balanced somewhat towards the nation (Like Lutjens secondary's or Jerzys torps etc), and also the fact I find "Super"containers lacking the "Super" factor the last couple of years. I will probably get a boatload of SC´s and boosters of different colors in the Christmas/New Years event anyways.

I'll probably err in this direction too; Supercontainers have been pretty pants for a while now, where an improved captain is consistently useful.

I was going to prioritize the commander in any case, but knowing now that the T8 Pan-Am BB is the final prize from the free track of the Battle Pass makes him even more of a priority (and we get ten of the boxes from there too). If you were of a mind to, you could use him to grind up the T8 in the second half of early access and have the T9 ready to unlock on Day 1. Because early-access ships don't require commander retraining, this would save you having to retrain him for the T8 as well as the others. Any tokens that I have left over from getting the commander are going to go to supercontainers, assuming I have enough. I have so many US premium cruisers that the Rochester holds no interest for me, and I use the Benson so infrequently that her camo is not of interest. That clarifies my spending a great deal. Last year I went for the ship (or rather the compensation purchase that having her already offered) plus supercontainers (and I pulled two ships out of those!), and I was originally planning to go all-in on supers this year since I don't want or need the Rochester, but the commander being part of the picture AND his new line launching AND me being on a spree of getting all the legendary commanders to 21 points changes that. 2
Admiral_Karasu
But what if you don't have any hope of farming enough tokens to get the commander? What's the next best strategy? Er... asking for a friend, obviously. 1

If you want him, it may pay you to get as many collection pieces as you can NOW to minimize the number of containers you'll almost certainly be buying with coal later (assuming they handle him as they did Sansonetti). 2

This exactly. ^^^ I can't remember the last time I had a good drop in a Poopercontainer. Besides, I can really use a decent skipper in my PanAm ships. If so, it's refreshingly honest of them... and there definitely is no pun there.
Wulf_Ace
Getting the commander is never a mistake especially for more or less a new line to grind, also if you prefer ranked battles for extra edge. Rochester for people who dont have much premium ships. And then SC.
Wrath_of_Deadguy
Expecting ~17000 tokens from ships, then whatever I get in the BP (Dev log claims an extra 4k from the BP and 1k in daily rewards). Enough to easily buy out the stack of SCs, plus whatever else (probably one of the T8s via coupon, since I have Rochester already); I have no real use for the commander because I have no plans to grind the Pan-American tech lines, and if that changes I can always pick him up when he re-releases (likely to be a while; I still haven't bothered finishing the Sa Zhenbing collection, either). And there's a reward crate that drops a T6 thrown in with the BP, too? Color me impressed. This looks like a pretty generous event.
Viridem
I'd wait to know what are the chances of getting the commander with these 65 containers. They said "High active players with decent amount of ships in their Port will be able to complete the collection only by participating in Anniversary activities." What do they mean by "only by participating in Anniversary activities"? Only the 85 containers? The 10 in the BP as well? The second line of the BP (that has one premium container)? Containers they might sell for ressources in the armory? Notably, what will the exchange rate be for duplicates? If it's 1:1, you're good (but what's the point of selling so many containers, then?). If it's 2:1, there's no way to guarantee completion with only 85 containers, like they seem to say (you'd need to unlock 38 uniques out of 85, which is very likely, but not quite 100%). For my part, I'm not interested in the captain, so I'll pick the 110 SCs, and then some boosters. I'm guaranteed roughly 1 premium ship, 4k dubs, 4 weeks of premium, 75k coal, and a bunch of goodies. Just for playing like usual.
Captain Slattery
Does anyone know how many of the daily 1000 tokens will be available?
