I'm assuming you still can log into your game normally?

I recommend caution when dealing with these messages, I certainly don't recommend clicking on any links there or maybe not even opening the mail.

Spam or phishing maybe ?
Especially if it requires that you identify again...

The only question is: have you been inactive ?

As for does Wargaming delete inactive accounts, yes, they do as they required to do so per law (at least in the EU). They state they are doing this when the account has been inactive for 10+ years, and I assume that means if you have played WoWS they should not be doing that.

This is for NA, it's the same. It's stated under the last item, Updates to Eula.

As I recall, at least a year ago and probably much longer, WG informed players that inactive accounts could be deleted.  (I can't find the original article, however)

I would probably follow these steps to see if you can reverse or contact customer service to re-activate the account.

I would be pissed if I woke up from an 11 year coma and found my wows account gone.

I haven't.
Also, I'm curious about any messages you might have gotten which offer free in-game stuff if you return to playing WOWs which should have preceded any deletion notifications.

As @Admiral_Karasu pointed out, be careful of the email and its origin.

Yeah, I haven't been inactive but I am playing a lot less. Logged into the game last weekend no problem and the website appears to be ok. Updater is still running as well. Probably just phishing.

In that case, have you tried and failed to log in to the game? Because that will determine if it's a fake email or not.

If it is fake, I would hit up a CM on discord to tell them about it. I always had a good talk back in the days of the forum with them when fake emails were going around.

I would recommend taking the issue to a customer support ticket, if the Discord route is not open.

WG customer support will close the ticket immediately, citing the inactive account closure notification. They are useless, unless you are asking them about financial issues.

Discord isn't a universal platform for support, so if WG is refusing to provide an avenue for customer support...then the next step is to reach out to your local government to obtain redress from WGs failure to follow local regulations...

WG can not pretend that Discord is a universal platform for customer support. It is not.

There is always a way to talk to WG staff...you just have to find it.

If it were me, I'd create a customer service ticket with a copy of the e-mail.
That way, at least WG/WOWs is informed and I've got something "on the record".
As long as I can still log-in and play the game, then customer service can put as much or as little effort into resolving the ticket as they desire.

Despite all my complaining about the game, parts of its design and direction, I have had nothing but positive interactions with individuals in the customer service ticket process.

Have you, as others have suggested, tried logging in to the game since receiving this email?
