A 7 minute exercise with the Harugumo

This one went by so fast it felt unreal. The entire battle lasted exactly 7 minutes.

I think the Convoy Escort should be tweaked to make both teams escort their own Convoy. That way it would be fair to both teams. And perhaps avoid 7 minute battles. LOL

Well... if I was the one designing the Convoy mode, it wouldn't be what you are suggesting, and it wouldn't be what WG is giving us, either.

I love working with professionals.

What was your thought process when you switched from firing at the Petropavlosk to the Liberty Ship?

I like Convoy mode, even if it can be very challenging to defend them. Often it is the lack of fighting spirit or lack of cross fire that predisposes the convoy defenders to defeat. Here's a game (see below), a defeat. The reds just ate our convoy for breakfast.

You can see how low our Base XPs are, and more than half of our team got less than 500 Base XP. Our Bajie commented he was surprised at how easy his battleship was destroyed. I think he showed his flat broadside to the red's Bourgogne while sitting still, sniping behind an island. And while we had a unicum player from the O7 clan, our team was simply one that cannot be carried to victory.

I wondered what would convoy be like if both teams have 3 or 4 ships they need to defend. Would that be a fair and fun game design?

Just to be clear, I'm no professional. LOL!

I can't remember exactly now my thought process when I shifted fire to the Liberty Ship. When it finally appeared, I felt it was time to just focus on the objectives than to farm damage on the Petro. And besides, the Petro was fighting against my teammates, leaving it open for me to shoot the Liberty Ship.

Oh, I'm thinking something along the lines of the icy waters of the North Atlantic and the Norwegian Sea... and the peril lurking under the surface.

Thanks for answering my question.
My thinking was that if the Petro was focus-fired-upon by you and your team-mates, she could have been sunk sooner.
Then you and your team-mates would have had no opposition and been free to sink the Liberty Ship without being fired upon in return.
Obviously, the path you chose also led to victory.  So, it's just a thought-exercise on my part.

The thought did cross my mind, but since the Petro was already facing 2 or 3 ships, I decided to shift fire to the Liberty Ship.

In contrast, when the enemy Ohio was still afloat, it was imperative to focus our fire on the battleship.
