Senkan
Title says it all. I'm looking to find the best lines to research. Edited July 14 by Senkan
thornzero
The world of warships wiki https://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:Ernst_Gaede [for example] by ship will tell you the cost of the ship in silver credits and the xp needed and cost of modules. However, it will not take into account clan bonuses on costs of ships. I am not sure this information will reveal what the best lines are: for your play style or modes you like. yss_turtleship
I think you're looking for https://shiptool.st/ .
I_cant_Swim_
What do you mean with "best"? If I may venture to say, when you play a line the costs for upgrades or ships compared to other lines becomes practically irrelevant. Far more important is as @thornzero says, what you like to play. There used to be a tool which could answer your question, I'm not aware of a spreadsheet function, though. I think the site is https://shiptool.st/ unless I'm wrong. (I just tried it and it was down). Also, welcome to the forum Edit: ninja'd by @yss_turtleship!
Senkan
I found a spreadsheet online put out by the clan NOCAP. It gives examples of total coin to complete a line and FXP it takes it research. Montana costs 50,965,550 coin while Harugumo takes 46,944,950. Montana 901,830 FXP to complete, Harugumo 676,640. So there is a difference. I'm a PVE player so coin and FXP is hard to come by and at T9 after Operations ends its a brutal grind to T10. I want to compare cost to what I like to play. Getting this info will help.
HogHammer
@Senkan, for a quick look as mentioned shiptool is a good resource. Use this link to Nations (shiptool.st - this defaults to the US line, but you can select the nation by clicking your preferred. This information is also displayed on the above-referenced wiki WoWs pages. (Wiki Wows Page at left/Gearing Example) Place your mouse over the ship and a pop-up with the information will show. For the same information but much more details, you can download ENERGETIKER'S RESEARCH BUREAU CALCULATOR below. This is an Excel spreadsheet with tons of information. It is mainly for calculating the costs of RB ships, but the basic information you seek is also provided. If PVE also means heavy coop grinding DD lines in general are cheaper than Cruisers and BBs in terms of XP and credits. But they are also easier to perform in. If you play very aggresive in a DD but not suiciding, you often sink your opposite DD + at least one more ship and in domination also capping. With a torp cruiser you can also get results. But with a Battleship not only are they more expensive but your results will be worse. In coop high alpha through torps or extremely fast firing guns to kill off opposite DD are the key. Therefor it is also how well you perform in ship that gives XP and credits will determine more the "cheapest line" in practice and not only on paper. My personal experience is that DDs are quite OK to grind in coop if you are so inclined, esp at higher tiers if you feel frustrated by CVs or subs and do not have so developed captains. I have +70 K Games (over 40 K in Coop). But the key is to run parallell grinds and use first win bonus. However it is not the most fun method. But practical since you can play with less concentration.
