UnrepentantSinner
Finally a Tier X german cruiser after all those years and it's a hybrid, a stupid hybrid, oh my god, why WG why?! 1
Sailor_Moon
Yeah, I saw it.....Tier VIII Tennessee. And it's the refit version to boot!! ❤️ Now, on the bright side, 28s reload (very nice) AND CRUISER DISPERSION, not even battlecruiser dispersion, we're talking CRUISER dispersion on a battleship(!). On the flipside......slow literally everything else, at Tier VIII, with bigger maps to traverse at 20.5 knots LOLS, where you face Tier Xs. No, I don't like that. Honestly, I do not know if she'll even really function so well. California already struggles along basically being shoehorned into Tier VII as-is. Imagine a California hull (thankfully with 32mm bow/stern though) on the larger maps, against Tier Xs? I'm both excited and terrified for this ship to enter testing XD Edited July 4 by Sailor_Moon 1
Daniel_Allan_Clark
Tennessee maneuverability in terms of turning circle and rudder shift...is BETTER than Kansas... That's pretty nice.

Oh this gets better. It has full on German secondaries too, and the base detect is 15.5 before concealment expert and systems. If you build for secondaries and concealment, the ranges will match exactly. Depending on the armor scheme, it may be possible to map screen autopilot this in a 1 on 1 or 2 on 1 fight using only secondaries while also using aircraft. 2
Admiral_Karasu
Well, at least one of them is a real ship. And as tier 8, the Tennessee is also able to take part in operations. ☺️

I also have 450+ ships ( including almost all the banned ones, except Sommers and Imperator ), i never need to buy ships from WG anymore. However, Tennessee maybe gonna be a rare exception if she gets available.

I don’t have any confidence that the devs can properly balance TN at tier VIII given their history with CA. I read this as just the latest in a series of short-sighted mis-tiering of historical ships for marketing reasons (to shoe-horn into events) rather than placement where they would provide the best gameplay experience. Nah, this isn't desperation. This is them being creative. If they wanted an easy tier 8, they already have close functional models to do Washington or Indiana at tier 8, no problem, and in fact, people would really have lost their minds if they had announced Washington. South Dakota, on the other hand, would require some reworking of the Massachusetts/Alabama model due to a different secondary and AA gun arrangement. You yourself note that Washington or another SD class are the logical choices for a historical tier VIII ship (the cynical part of my mind says they’re being saved for the next tier IX), and one of them could easily be implemented with a characteristic playstyle to separate it from its peers. That could be viewed as lower effort, but it wouldn’t appear as desperate. Instead, the devs are reaching for something more “different” (I would argue more for the sake of being different rather than the viability of the concept), and they are doing it by elevating an unpopular, essentially DoA tier VII BB (CA) to tier VIII, where many of her fundamental problems are more pronounced. They’re trying to cram a ship into a tier it is fundamentally unsuited for by tacking on loads of gimmicks in the hope that the “novelty” will ensure more sales at a higher price. tfcas119
a Hybrid ship looking like a Rhein crashed into an Aegir is not what people wanted for a T10 German cruiser Tennessee will either be completely busted (12 14in guns on CRUISER dispersion and hilarious concealment) or complete garbage because everything else sucks. Someone at WG got the orders from on high that a new tier VIII BB was needed to extract money from USN fans, and the decision was made to take the extremely popular California up a tier and basically dial her up to 11. I suspect those that are less jaded with WG’s track record of balancing ships will view this endevour as a bold sign of confidence. Those of us that have been around for a while are wondering who smuggled over the vodka stash from Saint Petersburg. Regarding the new tier X German aviation cruiser, I’m still holding out hope that the next cruiser line release will be a German Panzerschiffe/large cruiser line based off of Siegfried and Schill. NO in-betweens. Although I don't mind if it's acceptable in-betweens. But you're probably right. Honestly at this point, it better be the former, 'cause the Califfornia hull needs a big W 😛 Edited July 7 by Sailor_Moon

But I do have to admit that cruiser dispersion on battleship guns, regardless of caliber, is a rather unique design feature. ~-~°('. Then again, if I wasn't into premium ships and wanted a US BB, I'd very probably go with the North Carolina.
