Something that has never happened before in all my years of playing this game.

So, there I was, playing a Co-op match (I'm not proud. It happened. And yes I did need to shower afterwards) as I do from time to time if I have to grind some mission or other and on this occasion it was dockyard missions as I haven't had chance to play all week. I was after ribbons and, to a lesser extent, potential damage so I'm sailing my Kurfurst, trying not to kill things too quickly so my secondary gunners can do their thing and earn their keep. It's co-op so I'm not really paying much attention to what is going on around me though I was aware that there were two enemy BBs left and that's when it happened. It was so out of the ordinary that it took me really quite by surprise. Over the earpiece of my headset I heard the words I had never expected to hear in a million years...

"Our team depends upon you!"

It's a good job I wasn't drinking coffee at the time or I would have spat out the precious liquid.

I honestly did not think such a thing was possible. Had I fallen into some kind of mirror universe?

As it was it was a godsend as it meant I could farm secondary hits and potential damage on the two remaining enemies til my heart was content, after all there was a full 9 minutes left of the match. Happy days.

In my experience co-op has always been a feeding frenzy of players almost tripping over each other to do damage to the enemy as quickly as possible, I wasn't aware it was actually possible to be sunk in that mode let alone lose the entire team. Has anyone else experienced this or did I really, for a brief moment, fall into a parallel reality?

depends on the time of day.

Early morning for me, yeah, I've seen that. But I really live for that moment, especially if I need ribbons, damage, or potential damage for a mission.

Before 7 am EST on the NA server I like to play an easy coop with my morning coffee, and I am sometimes the only human on the coop team, and when the red bots outsmart my green bots things can go very, very bad.

Nah I've seen it. It is something when you see all the players die and then the bots turn around as one to hunt you down. Sometimes there's too much HP left to kill them all, but it depends on if they're being allowed to shoot accurately or not, and in what ship you happen to be in.

Rare, for me.
But, sometimes the 'Bots "Level-up!" and they make things interesting and lively.

The current low-tier mission-chain "Great Battles: Battle of Tsushima" is a lot of fun, for me.

I've even noticed a tier-2 red-team 'bot set a smoke-screen and reverse their engines so that they'd remain inside it.
Yeah, I'm not accustomed to seeing that behavior by 'Bots.

Fortunately, for me, a friendly ship was within 2km of the 'Bot, and they were spotted.
Thus, I could continue to shoot at them with my Tier-2 DD pop-guns.

This usually happens when there are a large number of bots on YOUR team and the actual players all run in.  The players get decimated because there isn't enough accurate firepower to support them and the bots on your team die shortly after, leaving you wondering what happened.

Odd things like that is why I actually have a 1300+ BXP in coop on the Emile Bertin and on the Scharnhorst '43. Odd hours and then getting left as the final one standing because there was only 2-3 real players in the entire match.
