Tpaktop2_1 NA Posted May 23, 2024 Posted May 23, 2024 (edited) Players from my clan division up and went out in Ise's. We were not expecting the results, so no spoilers here. I got to say this is the first time we ever hunted a sub by air. I thought you guys may like to see this in action. Edited May 23, 2024 by Tpaktop2_1 NA 3

Wasn't in a division, though. Thanks again to @ArIskandir for hosting this video on his youtube channel. 🙂 Ise vs Submarine Edited May 23, 2024 by Wolfswetpaws

We were not expecting the results, so no spoilers here. I got to say this is the first time we ever hunted a sub by air. Spoiler alert. Spoiler I'm not sure how much time the three of you had to work together and become familar with running your Ise's. So, the following is derived from a sincere desire for everyone, including you and your division-mates, to learn how to play better. 1. The Ise, as a hybrid-ship, can benefit from someone learning how to multi-task and time their actions so that there is a minimal amount of time for doing nothing. 2. Learning how to play a CV well can help with Hybrid-ship play. I understand that this might not be high on everyone's priority list. Moving along. 3. As a division, coordinating your attacks and overwhelming one target at a time with your guns and planes seems logical, to me. 4. Frequently your division changed which target they were firing upon, which gave opponents time to escape and heal. 5. Your division needs to learn to do more, sooner. More distance covered, more damage done per minute, more ships sunk, more map objectives achieved, more points scored. 6. For your "first time", you guys did do an okay job of finding the submarine by using the "detected" notifications while flying your planes to triangulate the position of the submarine. Could be better & faster. But, you had the concept understood and it did work. 7. With three squadrons, there could have been some epic level cross-dropping of torpedoes. Imagine a simultaneous drop of 24 torpedoes from three different directions (port, starboard and either at the bow or the stern). But, it didn't happen. Instead, the targets frequently were able to "just dodge" between the torpedoes or were able to maneuver enough to only take one or two hits out of eight torpedoes dropped. 8. Flying the planes in "S-curves" or "C-curves" while getting through the outer layer of a Flak bubble can help minimize the damage they take and ensure planes have enough HP to survive when they fly steady to make an attack run. 9. The Ise Captain's use battleship skills. There are no CV skills available to help them make the planes faster, stronger or healthier. So, knowing some of the CV flak avoidance tricks can be useful when you get up-tiered. It's true that we "miss every shot we don't take". You took an oppportunity and it panned-out. Nicely done. 👍 As for the ending? Better luck next time. 🙂 Thanks for sharing your adventures for the benefit of everyone's entertainment and education. 🙂 Edited May 23, 2024 by Wolfswetpaws 1

We had better nights syncing up. Also add to the fact the enemy team gave the sub time to run away so they can win on points. It was a deadly factor for the enemy team. Taking us on 1 vs 1 was bloody to us, but deadly to them. I just wonder how many hybrid or CV players encountered the same sub hunt situation and if this is common in their matches? 1
Aethervox Posted May 23, 2024 Posted May 23, 2024 '... hunted a sub by air'. Gee, something that reflects 'real life'. 3 Ises, tho, versus 1 'Flub'? Hopefully, they got it 'real good' 😁.

I just wonder how many hybrid or CV players encountered the same sub hunt situation and if this is common in their matches? Spoiler alert. Spoiler As for your first sentence, the red team wiped-out the rest of your team and had damaged your division's ships significantly. If they had performed better, they could have sunk at least one of your division, and perhaps all three of you. They didn't, this time. Your question of how many Hybrid or CV players have used the detection/triangulation technique? Well, I know that I've done it in the past. Not with three Hybrids or CV's, but just me, alone, playing a CV or a Hybrid ship. With the in-game aerial detection system, finding stealthy ships, such as destroyers and submarines, often involves using the "detected" status until one's planes can figuratively trip over the stealthy ship. In the past I've seen forum articles discussing how to use an opponents' own Radio Direction Finding (RDF) skill against them by communicating about which allied ship is "Located" and moving around and using when the "Located" status changes to lock-on to a different allied ship. Rinse & repeat until the red-team ship's position is established using some geometry. In my experience it is rare to see a division comprised entirely of Hybrid ships. But, you've demonstrated it can be done and I imagine others have done so, too. So, "unusual", but not impossible? Personally, I think a well coordinated three-ship effort of savvy Hybrid players is a good idea. Whether they're division-mates that have trained together or a lucky matchmaking result of great minds that think alike with synergy, they could be formidable. 2
