xamdam
I just played a Narai match in my Atago. A ship I have well over a thousand battles on. Though my ping was fine and there didn't seem to be any other obvious latency issues the battle felt like it was slowed down. So much so I thought maybe I forgot to move my 21pt Yamamoto back on. The ship was sluggish. The guns felt extremely slow to traverse and reload and my shells... I watched full salvos of HE go into the transports and seemingly disappear! Once I entered the bay, there was no Cleveland or Campbeltown to be found. They hadn't left the bay either... just not there. I moved up to ambush the lead DD and Omaha only to once again watch my HE just disappear into the side of the DD on my first volley (killed it with the second while dodging torps) and my AP do practically nothing to the Omaha. Not even overpens, just ghosting through. Second volley did take care of that as well. Next up, Indianapolis and yet again, AP full broadside, right at its citadel just vanished! WTH? In a panic, I launched torps on it and turned away just as it blapped mine at a 45 degree angle and I was dead. The entire match felt like I'd had my hand tied behind my back and was playing it wearing lead boots in some kind of weird bad dream. Somehow I managed 200k of damage and 7 kills (thanks transports) but it felt like the hardest I had to work for it, ever. Am I going insane? Or are there some server issues happening? 1
Wolfswetpaws
I'm inclined to guess that internet lag or unusual demand in your local area caused slow packet-traffic speeds.

Maybe so. However everything else seems fine connection wise and I'm on a 1GB fiber optic connection. Shrug. Maybe my RNG penalty got stacked up and dumped on me all in one match. Last night I did have a string of good games. lol
Wrath_of_Deadguy
I suspect everyone's had a game like that, at least once. Sometimes it just feels like everything's working against you, for no particular reason. Guns didn't come around soon enough to make a critical shot, torps got knocked out right before launch, full salvos of shells go everywhere but the target, caught a double fire right after burning DCP... always satisfying when you have a good game in spite of the game itself, though. ...and then there's always the chance that you happen upon a bug somewhere in WG's spaghetti code. So there's that.

Last night I did have a string of good games. lol Simply put, "It's complicated". 🙂 Even if one has great hardware inside their home/building/neighborhood, the internet is covering a lot of territory and someone else's data-packets may be in a traffic-jam and the game's serer is trying to resolve the situation, perhaps? Or a weather system generates a lightning-strike which fells a tree onto an internet-node which the server and your computer are using and the data must be re-routed on a longer path, and etc. & etc. 24 players and one server = a lot could go wrong or at least *weird*, even if the game isn't suffering from a bug or corrupted bit of programming (which needs a bit of "check & repair" maintenance).
