Collision model (w/friendlies) changed?

Sorry if this has been discussed, I couldn't find anything.

Has there been changes to the collision model with friendlies (and the map border)?

I've been noticing more and more "reverse" does almost nothing to get you unstuck from even a minor collision with a friendly. Most of this I've seen in Operations but also in Asymmetric Battles. For example, a few battles ago in UF I came out of the repair area after getting slapped around a bit from the first BBs only to catch the bot Kato (Aoba) crossing my T. We got locked together and the next wave that spawned from the south was hammering it, and me with overshots. I even tried engine boost, which did nothing until I gave up on reverse and instead pushed myself free. Lost most of my HP and had to head back to repair. It's like the crews cast over a few lines and lashed us together.

Also, the same thing seems to apply to the map border. Namely in Hermes, Narai, Killer Whale and Newport when you need to get close to it at times. If you're bow in, forget trying to reverse out... You need to full power and do the slide of shame to get off of it.

Was this intended? A new "feature"? I'm guessing not but maybe I'm missing something.

To go along with this, Hermes... the friendly bot CAs (or BBs, depending on the MM) cut a diagonal line into the formation. Often this results in the same sort of getting stuck together stuff. Towards the end of the match, hilarity can be had if someone just so happens to be in front of Ruan, which will drive over, flip you over, push you under or pop you into the air no matter what to get out. Physics don't seem to apply to it.

Bot CVEs and Raptor will do the same to you in RR. This just isn't consistent. Ofc there, I'd rather have them do that than get grounded and lose the match.

The operations bots have a path to follow and currently will shove players out of the way at least from what I have seen. I assume it was the "easy" solution to avoid people grounding the escort ships and losing.

Yes, they've always been pathed. But this issue with the border, and getting stuck on other ships without being able to reverse off is new (to me).

I have not come across the issue of getting stuck on the operations bots so far. In Hermes for example the friendly bots have shoved my battleship out of the way consistantly if I happen to be in their path. Never hit the Aoba in UF before so couldn't speak to that. All the escorting bots, Ruan, Raptor, Transports, etc. have been pushing my ship aside if I run into them.

I don't usually run into the border outside of the end of escorting the Ruan where it won't let you cross that border even though the Ruan will. Didn't notice any specific issue with getting off the border, but might have missed it, I'm usually too focused on other things at that point.

As for the border collisions, I think there's been no change. The time it takes for you to be able to reverse, in my experience, depends on your angle of hitting the border and your speed at the time. Since the border essentially slows you down, my theory is that is also slows down the process of deceleration from forward speed, and the reverse acceleration out of the border as well.

This is not really new. Encountered it quite a few times, during at least the last 2 patches . Same for the border. As for being "intentional".....no clue.

Approx 2 years ago it was even worse, sometimes ships could end up... half in each other ( it took some time to figure out what word to use, kept getting to a p word 🙂 )
