1,000 reasons why world of warship is not a simulation

reason 0001

1 Relativity as in ships are relative to speed, as in a cruiser is faster then a battleship, and a destroyer is faster then a crusier

ships can go faster than in real life

The Le Fantasque-class ships were designed to counter the fast Italian Condottieri-class light cruisers[1] and Le Terrible set a world record for a ship with a conventional hull of 45.02 knots (83.38 km/h; 51.81 mph). The fastest warship with a displacement hull was the French destroyer Le Terrible which reached a maximum speed of 45.02 knots (83.38 km/h; 51.8 mph) during trials in January 1935. Its twin turbines normally developed 73,000 shp for 37 knots (68.52 km/h; 42.58 mph) but for one hour during trials it averaged 43.8 knots (81.82 km/h; 50.40 mph) at 89,265 shp.

First and foremost, Le Terrible is currently the fastest tier VIII ship in the game, topping out at 53.8 knots with all pertinent boosts active. While her base top speed matches that of Khabarovsk, her improved Engine BoostWhile active, increases a ship's speed by a fixed percentage. provides the edge need to claim the moniker of "fastest ship in the game".

2) Space and time compression

3) Terrain sprouting from the sea like warts

4) Re-spawns (after the battle)

5) No human casualties

6) Relative "Power" and Cost are roughly on par for ships of very different nature: A Destroyer can go toe-to-toe against a Battleship and cost roughly the same!

7. a cruiser is a cruiser save when a frigate is a cruise Black Swan

8. A cruiser is a cruiser save when it is a destroyer too many to count but Le Fantasque, Pablo Emilo, Elbing

9)  I can only talk with allied ships via text message, but they relay enemy positions and ID directly into my ship’s command center.

10) radar able to see thru landmass

11) hydro -//-

12) ships suddenly materializing to full at fixed distance from you

13) infinite ammo

14) radar is strictly limited in how many times can be used

15) below/near waterline hits do not cause flooding -expecially on ships with internal belts (Iowa, Richeliu)

To the title:  because, real life is outright boring and hugely anticlimactic;  except for HMS Hood.  Small, time compressed maps simply wouldn't work.......even the eight year olds playing this game would start screaming:  "this is sooooooo Booooring !"

Leave real life to serving in a Navy and keep games, games.  Everyone will be much happier !

16. shells can't cause flooding

It is impossible to cause a flooding on an allied ship.[1] Underwater shell hits can cause damage but do not cause flooding.

flooding can only be caused by

  • Being struck by an enemy torpedo.
  • Being rammed by an enemy ship.
  • Being hit by a depth charge as a submarine.

Battleships have ASW.

Destroyers without torpedo reloads can fire dozens of them anyway.

Radar sees through mountains.

Ships from the 1910's-1950's can fire on a target they cannot see (either visually or with radar) because another ship can see it - a capability that did not exist until decades later.

17) Endless planes for reworked CVs.

Every paper ship in the game. And what has been written above. And what will be written below.

CV not sending multiple squadrons at you and dropping all munitions in a single attack flight.

That's not entirely accurate. Depending on how you measure, there are other ships in the game that have a claim to that title.

Fastest Base Speed

1. Tashkent '39 - 44.8kts

2. Kléber / Marceau - 44kts

3. Mogador / Paolo Emilio / Delny 43.5kts

4. Le Terrible / Minsk / Leningrad / Khabarovsk / Zorkiy - 43kts

Fastest with everything except Captain Talents

Swift in Silence (+8%), Dazzle (+8%), Sierra Mike (+5%), Engine Boost (variable)

1. Paolo Emilio - 64.15kts

2. Kléber / Marceau - 62.69kts

3. Mogador - 61.98kts

4. Le Terrible - 61.26kts

5. Tashkent '39 - 58.45kts

Fastest with everything including Captain Talents

1. Kléber / Marceau running Auboyneau (+8% for every 2m potential) - ∞ kts

2. Everything else.

one i relied on a certain site for that, two it was more to make a point the Le Terrible was the fastest ship of its era and all time not including hydrofoils or some other gimmick, to point out of the ship ignores reality when it comes to speed,

but thank you for the data, it is nice to be questioned and not have things taken at face value, thank you for rolling up the sleeves and really adding to the thread
