Captains on discount

Normally I never promote anything but maybe it might be helpful to some that 10 p captains during a few days now over the weekend cost 300 instead of 1500 doubloons.

It may be a good opportunity to get good starter captains on future ships that you might buy or others that you want to upgrade.

300 dbl is IMO a quite OK prize. Even though I am a veteran and have plenty of EliteXP I will probably grab a few in lines that might be released in the future like Latin America or Spanish Destroyers f.e..

Edit: Answers indicate that I have been too unclear. It is only in the game on your nation that you want to recruit to that you go to a ship and recruit a captain like the picture below.

@GnirfIs that in the armory - commanders tab?  Mine are still listed for 1,500 doubloons.  I don't see that offer on my EU account.  Looked on NA account and it says 1,500 also.

I'm on the EU server, it's not for the commanders in the armory, but it works if you recruit a vanilla captain for your ship of choice.

Thanks for posting this, I would have missed it like I usually do. These are worth the 300 doubloons for someone grinding up the lines.

Yep! Just got 5 captains. Now I wonder if its a good deal to get extras and retrain later on to-be-built ships?

Retraining a 10 point commander with commmander xp isn't expensive (12500, if i remember correctly), so if you need extra commanders, it's worth it.

Reminder, if you're a veteran you can always convert credits to cxp instead.
