How's Your Kitakami Resource Grind Going?

Would be a fun ship to have, but not worth it for the prices they want even if I was going to have the required resources to get it. Which I'm not.

this ship is mostly for veterans with a lot of resources in stock, no point for a new player to get this ship.

I will probably have hives from how much Kitakami will deplete me. Not absolutely sure I will get it; the amount of stuff I get from the Holiday events will tell the tale.

I know this. I have been playing since beta, lol.  Had the resources until recently when I went on a spending spree to get tier 10 ships for the Anniversary and Holiday celebration rewards.

As it stands now, as I understand the costs, when this becomes available I could spend nearly all my in game resources (not doubloons) at get the following ships at one blow:

Elli
Ferruccio
Carnot
Defense
Kitakami
Plymouth
Slava/Druid/Vampire II/Colbert/Siegfried/Hector - Pick one, leaning Vampire II

Resources spent:
Coal: 760,000
RB Points: 124,800 + 47,000-63,000
Steel: 20,250

 

Resources currently available:

Coal: ~765,000
RB Points: ~189,900
Steel: ~20,800

 

It is very temping to make the day a bonanza day of ship acquisition.

"Clyde Plays" @clydeplays has made a sweet spreadsheet on calculating each resource you want to use and how much of those resources you'll have left afterward. You can go from getting just the one ship to getting all ships and the flags. 
It looks complicated but it's easy to use. You just plug in what your resources are at the moment, and count all of your ships from t5 to SuperShips. (It takes into effect the Snowflake event.) 
Watch the video, as he explains it way better than I can. But it's slick as can be. 
You know it's easy to use if I understand it. 🥴 And you can't mess it up, and if you do, you just download another copy.

Oh wow... Even went for the extras!

After some internal debate, I pulled the trigger too. Had way more resources than I thought I would. Not only was I able to get Kitakami, but I was able to get Lauria with a coupon and still have over 20k steel left. On the tech tree side, I added both Piemont and Bungo. Then the 5 high tier ships I pulled out of the free Mega boxes. Been a good month with free stuff.

Kitakami in few days... I am re-grinding my German original DD line and have x15 Mutiplier on Z-52... currently Z-46 is in grind towards Z-52...

I guess you can consider my time playing the game since launch and accumulating fxp as a sort of grind 99% of the stages bought with RB points with the final stage being a measly 60 day of premium from me

Why did you use up all your RB points instead of using more of your other excess resources? 

 

It seems like RB points where actually the resource you had the least amount of.

It's the most cost effective resource by far if you were to compare the prices of the usual tier 10 special ships of each respective resources

 

Plus it's a resource I can gain the most by demand as it derives from fxp for me.

The first statement is only true if you restrict the second statement to the use of the x2 multiplier every 3 months, which takes a lot of time.

 

You have quite an excess of other resources. I would at least have spent some of those 4.200 premium days.

 

But hey, it's your decision of course.

 So, how have those that have cleared space for this special lady found her to perform, what have you been pleasantly surprised about and what fun challenges has she thrown your way? 😃 

I purchased up to Defence with Coal (I still have enough for the Kitakami, but will not be getting her).

I feel the Kitakami will be a fantastic catch for those that collect and want to see their collection welcome the 'crown' of jewels, those that just want to treat themselves, or those that are interested in making this ship earn the resource spent on her and come up with some outstanding performances!

I don't fall into any of the above (although I do feel I somewhat treated myself getting up to the Defence😁), and for me the Kitakami would have likely spent her time in port - a shame for a ship with her history in the game. 

I'd love to hear the adventures players have had who have been lucky enough to get her. <O

Hi  @Vader_Sama, I'm sure you were one of the many who killed the Operations in the Weimar, getting the best out of that ship in the scenario given.

How have you found the Kitakami; it's early days, but have you enjoyed her gameplay (do you have any tips for those that have also purchased he)r?

I think it is more a 'one time camo' pick up - rather than something that is looking to knock your socks off lol.

I believe it is a one time pick up for this event, so those that have it - well, we'll all know they went 'all in' for the whole shebang! A high roller if you will. In the future (when we've forgotten the cost), some will enjoy the fact they went all in - and the camo will reflect that.

For those that get her, I expect it will be something special. 😀<O
